Print Tracking Options with Argos OnBoard for Konica Minolta

Argos OnBoard for Konica Minolta can track print, copy, scan and fax activity on compatible devices. However, there are multiple options for tracking print activity.

OnBoard tracking

OnBoard tracking will track printing directly at the device.

Advantages:

• Prints are tracked regardless of source
• If a print job is canceled partway through the print, only the printed pages are reported
• Fuly compatible with Konica Minolta ID & Print

Disadvantages:

• Users must put a PIN code in the driver on their workstations

Windows tracking

Windows print tracking will track every print job sent through any tracked print queue. This is the recommended method if a Fiery controller is not present on the device, and is included with the base Argos product. See Configuring PIN codes for Konica Minolta print driver for more information.

Advantages:

• No need to enter PIN code in device driver
• File name is tracked

Disadvantages:

• In environments without print servers, print tracking must be installed on each computer that prints to the MFP
• If the MFP has a Fiery RIP server, reprinted jobs are not tracked
• If a print job is canceled partway through the print, all pages are reported
• Konica Minolta ID & Print jobs are tracked before printing

Fiery tracking

For Fiery-enabled color Konica Minolta MFPs, Fiery tracking is recommended.

Advantages:

• No need to enter PIN code in device driver
• File name is tracked
• If a print job is canceled partway through the print, only the printed pages are reported
• Tracks jobs reprinted through Fiery controller
