Additional steps must be taken to allow authentication using an ID or proximity card on Xerox MFP devices.
- Enter the IP address of the Xerox MFP into a web browser to access the Xerox Centreware Internet Services configuration portal. Click Login to access the device settings.
- Enter the User ID and Password for the administrator account (default User ID is admin with Password 1111). Click Login.
- Click the Properties tab. Click Login / Permissions / Accounting and select Login Methods from the sub-menu. In the Touch and Web User Interfaces section, click the printer icon button next to Touch UI Method.
- In the Edit Login Methods window, select Convenience Authentication from the Touch UI Method drop down list.
- Set the Alternate authentication method on the machine's touch user interface (Touch UI) drop down list to User Name / Password - Validate on the Network. Set the Web UI Method drop down list to User Name / Password - Validate on the Device. Click Save.
- In the Login Methods window, in the Configuration Settings section, click Edit next to Convenience Authentication Setup.
- In the Convenience Authentication Setup window, in the Accounting Information section, select the radio button next to Automatically apply Accounting Codes from the server. Click Save.
- Click OK in the modified properties notification message window.
- In the Login Methods window, in the Configuration Settings section, click Edit next to Customize Blocking Screen.
- In the Customize Blocking Screen window, enter a Window Title and Instructional Text that will appear on the Xerox panel. Click Save. Click Reboot Device.
- Click OK in the modified properties notification message window.
- After the Xerox restart is complete, follow steps 1 & 2 to log back into the web interface. Click the Properties tab. Click Login / Permissions / Accounting and select Login Methods from the sub-menu. In the Configuration Settings section, click Edit next to Web Service Enablement.
- In the HTTP window, check the box next to Xerox Secure Access. Click Save.
- On the Properties tab, Login / Permissions / Accounting section, select User Permissions. In the User Permissions window, Touch and Web User Interfaces section, click Edit next to User Permissions Method.
- In the Edit Method window, select Locally on the Device (Internal Database) from the User Permissions Method drop down list. Click Save.
- In the User Permissions window, in the Configuration Settings section, click Edit next to User Permission Roles.
- In the User Permission Roles window, on the Non-Logged-In-Users tab, in the Permission Role section, click Edit.
- In the Manage user permissions (Non-Logged-In User) window, on the Print tab, set all feature options to Always Allowed. To change the individual feature options, click Edit next to the the entry, select Always / Allowed click Save.
- In the Manage user permissions (Non-Logged-In User) window, on the Services & Tools tab, in the Presets section, select the radio button next to Restrict Access to everything. Click Apply.
- Enable Network Accounting if the setting has not yet been configured.
- Plug in the USB ID card reader into the Xerox.
- In Argos Manager, Devices & Terminals section, Advanced Tracking Group, double-click on the Xerox MFP device instance to open the properties window. On the Argos OnBoard for Xerox tab, select the radio button next to ID card with PIN code as alternative, then click the Associate MFP with select Argos server button.
- Click OK to close the successful association message.
