Configuring Mac OSX print drivers to work correctly with Argos OnBoard for Konica Minolta
When using Konica Minolta OnBoard in an environment with Macintosh computer, specific configuration is required in the Mac drivers.
OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) configurationUse the following steps for configuring the Konica Minolta driver on OSX 10.9.Alternate instructions for 10.8 and lower are listed below. |
- Open the Print dialog and select your Konica Minolta driver
- Select "Output Method" from the dropdown menu
- Click "Detail Settings..."
- Select "Administrator Settings" and click "Settings..."
- "User Authentication" should be unchecked
- "Encryption Passphrase" should NOT be checked
- Set "Enhanced Server" to "On"
- Select "User Authentication" and click "Settings..."
- "Public User" should be unchecked
- "User Name" should have the user's name
- Password should have the user's PIN code
- All other fields should be blank
If printing is tracked via Konica Minolta OnBoard, the driver needs to have valid user and PIN information set up for each user. If print tracking is done via Mac tracking, or EFI Fiery tracking, the same username and PIN settings can be used on all Macs. |
OSX 10.8 and older configurationUse the following steps for configuring the Konica Minolta driver on OSX 10.8 and older.Alternate instructions for 10.9 are listed above. |
- Open the Print dialog and select your Konica Minolta driver
- Select "Output Method" from the dropdown menu
- Click "Detail Settings..."
- Select "User Authentication" and click "Settings..."
- "Public User" should be unchecked
- "User Name" should have the user's name
- All other fields should be blank
- Select "Administrator Settings" and click "Settings..."
- "User Authentication" should be unchecked
- Check "Encryption Passphrase"
- Enter user's PIN code in Encryption Passphrase field
- Set "Enhanced Server" to "On"
