How do I configure my device to use Argos OnBoard for Xerox?
In order to track prints, copies and scans using Argos OnBoard for Xerox, the following steps are required.
Supported models: 5735, 5740, 5745, 5755, 5765, 5775, 5790
Enable Network Accounting on the device panel
- At the device panel, click the Machine Status button
- An "Authentication Required" screen will appear. Log in with your Administrator username (default username/password: admin/1111)
- Click Tools tab
- Click Accounting Settings>Accounting Mode
- Select Network Accounting button
- Click Save
- Click Accounting Setup>Network Accounting Authentication
- Verify that Authentication is set to Enabled
- Click Save
- Click Network Accounting Login
- Select Mask Account ID Details
- Click Save
- Click Network Accounting Validation
- Enter 9 in the Account ID field
- Click Save
- Click Log In/Out
At this point, the machine will be locked down and users will need to enter a PIN code make copies, scans or faxes.

Unlike other Xerox devices, there is no way to hide the "Account ID" field on the 5xxx series MFPs. The users are presented with two prompts: Enter User ID Enter Account ID After entering the PIN code in "Enter User ID", users can simply click "Enter" instead of "Next". The "Next" button will bring them to the pre-filled "Account ID" field. If users enter anything other than "9" in the Account ID field, it not allow them to log in. |
Upload PIN codes to Xerox device
After enabling Network Accounting, the Xerox User Sync task must be run from Argos. Users will not be able to make copies or prints until this task has run.
